Seize the overnight, 2-day opportunity to gain experience and knowledge from licensed, seasoned outfitters & guides. Use our rugged horses to prepare for the upcoming hunting season amidst the grandeur of the great outdoors. Also, you can add a wilderness first aid/stop the bleed safety class Sunday evening by a licensed, experienced medical professional ($25 additional fee). Arrive Saturday morning and departure Sunday night. Meals prepared and provided throughout your stay.

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR:

My name is Michael Sherwood, and for the last nine years, I've been guiding hunters on horseback through the mountains. I grew up packing and riding with my dad in these rugged terrains and always knew this was the life I wanted to pursue. 

Today, I am a licensed Montana outfitter, running my own business.

I've had the privilege of packing horses and mules in the Brooks Range of Alaska, the Western Alaska Range, the Bob Marshall Wilderness, the Thorofare River drainage in Wyoming's Bridger-Teton Wilderness, and, of course, our very own Beartooth Mountains.

During our course, we will teach you the essential packing and horsemanship skills needed to embark on your own mountain adventures. While these skills take a lifetime to perfect, we'll ensure you get started on the right path!
