Beartooth Equine is the perfect place for first-time riders! Upon your arrival at our facility, you'll get the chance to meet your horse prior to hitting the trail. Our experienced guides excel in making new riders feel at ease on the ground before they mount up.
Beartooth Equine provides horseback riding services, including trail rides, private events, and rides customized to individual preferences. Our goal is to provide clients with an incredible "MONTANA" and Beartooth Mountain experience. We LOVE to talk about our beautiful neck of the woods so if you have more questions feel free to ask!
Wear long pants and closed-toe shoes with a small heel. It is also a good idea to bring sunscreen and a hat, a jacket or hoodie too!
Yes, our experienced guides provide a meet-n-greet where our clients and horses can get to know each other! We want our guests to feel comfortable and safe before we hit the trails.
Indeed, we have set a weight limit of 250 pounds for riders to ensure the well-being of our horses and guests. We adhere to a 20% weight policy, which means that since an average horse weighs approximately 1,250 pounds, a rider must not exceed 20% of the horse's weight, equating to 250 pounds, to safeguard the health and safety of both the horse and the rider.
Montana enforces laws that ensure the safety of our industry, clients, and horses, and provide valuable guidelines for safety and insurance. These laws prohibit anyone under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or certain prescription medications from riding. Additionally, women who are pregnant, or suspect they might be pregnant are advised not to ride. Children under the age of seven are considered too young for rides exceeding one hour, according to our guidelines and safety regulations. Furthermore, individuals receiving medical treatment for heart conditions, inner ear disorders, or on medications that necessitate frequent restroom use, are not permitted to participate in trail rides. If an individual is not respecting our guides, our safety measures or our facilities we will ask that individual to leave the premises without a refund.
Beartooth Equine LLC is passionate about horses and dogs alike! We would be thrilled to have dogs accompany our adventures. However, we must prioritize their safety and, regrettably, cannot allow dogs on our property. The weather conditions often make it unsafe for dogs to stay in vehicles, so please leave them at home. While we're eager to meet Fluffy, it's best for Fluffy to await your return. You're welcome to share photos of Fluffy with us and request a treat to take back. After your adventure, you can recount the day's experiences to Fluffy as they savor their treat... at home.
No. For many safety reasons we do not allow double riding. Children may not ride double. Grandma and grandkids cannot ride double. Dad and the baby cannot ride double. Our own staff does not ride double. Any attempts to ride double are a safety violation and would result in being asked to leave the premises without refund.
Absolutely, we welcome and support photography! Please adhere to the following guidelines to ensure the safety of both guests and horses:
- Set your camera or phone to silent mode.
- Secure your camera or phone with a strap around your neck.
- To prevent devices from falling out, store them in a zippered pocket rather than in pants, jacket, or shirt pockets.
- To take a photo, kindly request the guide to halt the ride momentarily. Once stopped, prepare your silenced device and take your photos. Afterwards, place the device back into a zippered pocket or let it rest securely on the strap around your neck.
- Tag us in your social media online for a discount or other fun surprise!!
If you're acquainted with the Beartooth Equine LLC herd, we welcome you to call ahead and request your preferred horse! We'll showcase various horses on our social media pages and website to assist our new clients. Our guides strive to match riders with their chosen horses. However, we ask for your understanding that we may not always fulfill this request, as horse assignments and group compositions can change daily.
